Overall, love the watch. The alarm does stink, unless its very quiet, you will likely not hear it. The watch is light, comfortable and slick. The negative face is subtle, but i would not say its hard to read. The compass and barometer are fine for my needs (which are infrequent).
This is a great watch, exactly as describe in the features pages.The price is also competitive when you look at the other brands for the same features.
I plan to update this review in another month or so. The compass is great to have to make sure you're heading in the right direction. This watch performs well. However, both give you a great idea of each. One month in, this watch is doing great. I've been on short hikes and long hikes. As stated with most other reviews, the temp can be off which may cause a similar problem with the altimeter.
You have to be careful when setting up the watch, as it is easy to change the factory defaults on the barometer. I love the compass and reverse display. My chief complaint is that the buckle is hard to unfasten (acutally, the tab that holds the end of the strap in place). I purchased the X-Lander Military version of this watch (all black, rubber strap). I've scraped it across several hard objects, and it has yet to show scratches. The elevation data seems to change constantly with barometric pressure, but I'm assuming that this is always the case with this type of instrument as its not tied to GPS.
it's a nice watch but depending on the sun light you can't see the numbers, also when your are in the shadows. everything else works as it says the catalog.
